A fantastic tool for starting your wellness journey.  If you’re looking for a starting point to improve your overall wellness, this book is a fantastic tool! It’s a very manageable length, and it provides the reader with the opportunity to take an active approach to considering their personal goals for making improvements in all areas of wellness. Most of all, it’s inspiring that Barb has chosen to be so candid about her own wellness journey in order to help others with theirs.

 

What a beautifully written and carefully planned out guide to “living well”. Barbara’s book was very insightful. Taking care of ourselves and working on our balance can be overwhelming. I feel she did a good job of laying out a lot of ideas which she has learned (in hindsight) and then shared with us. It’s always great to have a guide to living a happy, healthy life. Thank you Barbara!

 

The hand that is dealt is often much less than optimal.  The choices are:  (1) to fold; or (2) to find the optimal approach to managing a sub-optimal hand.  Regarding the former, one can never win.  Regarding the latter, there is a chance of winning…while actively and enthusiastically staying in the game.  Ms. Appelbaum’s book (it is really much more than a book!) helps the reader to personally discover the tailored, optimal approach to staying in the game, making the best of things with a positive attitude, and proudly striving toward victory…however the reader chooses to define “victory.”  “Live in Wellness Now” stimulates positive ideas.  It motivates.  It adds the happiness-generating element of personal pride.  It inspires!!!  What a great gift for a friend or family member — or even an acquaintance or stranger — holding some challenging cards!  The reader can’t always change a deuce into an ace, but he or she can see a path toward leveraging a deuce into a winning hand.  Ante up!

 

This journal provides an easy format for organizing information around health, activities, concerns and aspirations. It’s motivational and non-threatening. Having all one’s medical information in one place is a time-saver, even (or especially) for a basically healthy person who tends to focus on other aspects of life. It will be interesting to see how my entries in the sections on fitness, nutrition and spirituality vary through the years as I “evolve.” I love this book.

 

People (for some odd reason) don’t place true value on their health until they become ill or incapacitated. A healthy lifestyle can head off a lot of health problems before they become an issue. I have always been the one in my immediate family to care for our elderly…learned a lot about what could’ve been prevented while my Dad was ill. I only hope people listen, learn & take heed. You are a dear soul.

Inspired by the author’s personal experiences, its pages are filled with sage and practical advice in the medical, nutritional, fitness and spiritual components of living, with journal pages to guide and record the reader’s personal journey toward wellness. Highly recommended.

Ms. Appelbaum’s book is really a guide for taking control of your own health. It’s divided into four color-coded sections (medical, nutrition, fitness, and spiritual). Each section begins with place to write down important information such as doctors, spa’s, fitness facilities, and other health care information. Then, the reader is led through some soulful work completing an assessment in each area, setting goals, and journaling. The journaling allows the reader to record progress, celebrate success and work with practitioners to improve health and wellness. Every doctor’s office should give their patients a copy of this book. True health and well-being begins with the individual.

Received my book yesterday and love it! It is written with love and helps you track your journey to wellness! What I love is the different forms in the book to list all your Health Advisors, Blood Tests, Spiritual advisors, foods you eat, how you feel when you eat the foods and personal thoughts. No more need for 100’s of sticky papers. Everything is well organized and right at your fingertips. Barbara B. Appelbaum gives you the tools to take control of your health.

 

Having known the Author and having heard her speak many times, I have been counting down the days until this book was available for purchase. Ms. Appelbaum is inspiring, upbeat and extremely knowledgeable in her field and I am confident that the material in this book will change people’s lives!

 

Looking over the sample pages of this book, I am certain, as a wellness consultant myself, that this tool will be well received by all who choose to access it. Having this tool to empower oneself on their journey to wellness appears to be exactly what one needs, especially those who are presently challenged with the current circumstances of their own ill- health. With the author’s first hand experience on the road to taking charge of her own health issues, I can assume that she shares this with the world knowing that becoming your own(organized) health advocate is the first, and perhaps most important, aspect of the healing journey. Having a beautifully bound place to focus on your wellness, and with the inspiration and guidance provided within the pages by the author, this is a beautiful tool to be cherished and used daily as you become your own best advocate for your own wellness. The journey is yours to take; this book makes it easier.
